David Lindberg is the Evjue-Bascom Professor of the History of Science and the director of the Institute for Research in the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His books include Science in the Middle Ages, Theories of Vision from al-Kindi to Kepler and Studies in the History of Medieval Optics.
