The presentation of the Iowa Award to George Washington Carver, Iowa State's first African American graduate and faculty member, by Gov. Tom Vilsack. Several other officials will participate, including ISU President Gregory Geoffroy. A reception will follow in the South Ballroom with exhibits related to Carver's career and his life at Iowa State.
