Lester Thurow is professor of economics and management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A graduate of Williams College, he received his MA and PhD in Economics from Harvard University. Before joining the MIT staff, Thurow taught at Harvard University where he was awarded the Graduate National Fellowship and the David A. Wells Prize for his book entitled Poverty and Discrimination. Since 1967, Thurow has contributed numerous articles to scholarly journals in the areas of employment, income distribution, and taxation.
