Frances Moore Lappe is a co-founder of the Institute for the Arts of Democracy and the author of Rediscovering America's Values. She co-founded the Institute for Food and Development Policy, is the author of Diet for a Small Planet and has co-authored many books including Aid as Obstacle and Betraying the National Interest.

Paul DuBois is co-founder of the Institute for the Arts of Democracy. He was vice president at Cambridge College and the College of the Atlantic and director of the Association for Humanistic Psychology. he has written two books on health care and leadership in the management of nonprofit organizations.
