Pelete Bite: Income Generating Textile Art of African Women

Joanne Bubolz Eicher is professor and Head of the Department of Textiles and Clothing at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Eicher's background includes research on pelete bite textiles during three field trips to Kalabari, nigeria. Dr. Eicher brings her academic training as a sociologist and her extensive experience in socio-cultural study of American and African dress to the analysis of the Kalabari textiles. Dr. Eicher is the author of four books and numerous articles on the subject.
