Sherman Alexie wrote and produced the film Smoke Signals, winner of two awards at the Sundance Film Festival. he is currently at work on a film based on his novel Indian Killer, which he is writing and directing. He is the author of a short story collection, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven; four poetry collections including The Business of Fancydancing; and two novels, Reservation Blues and Indian KillerHe is a Coeur d'Alene who was born on the Spokane Indian Reservation.
