Erik Throbecke is Professor of Economics and Food Economics at Cornell University. his primary areas of interest include economic and agricultural development and planning; international economics; theory of economic policy and econometrics. Prior to teaching at Cornell, Dr. Thorbecke was Professor of Economics at Iowa State University. He has participated in numerous committees focusing on international economic and agricultural development. Thorbecke is the author of numerous publications including Planning Techniques for a Better Future, and The Role of Agriculture in the Economic Development of Guatemala.
