Charles Murray is Bradley Fellow with the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. His book, Losing Ground: Social Policy, 1950-1980, has been used (by the Reagan Administration) as the basis for reform of the welfare system. His other recent works have appeared in The Atlantic, The Wall Street Journal, Political Science Quarterly, and The New York Times. He has been credited as the single most important influence in the emerging bipartisan consensus on welfare reform.
