Gregorio Millett is vice president and director of public policy at amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, and one of three principal writers of the current administration's National HIV/AIDS Strategy. He is a nationally recognized epidemiologist and researcher who worked previously with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. From 2009 to 2013 he served as a senior policy advisor in the White House Office of National AIDS Policy, where he coordinated research activities as well as the federal interagency process to develop the National AIDS Strategy. He has a Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in community health education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Gregorio Millett has worked on a range of policy issues, including the elimination of the HIV entry ban that prohibited HIV-positive persons from travelling to or seeking residency in the United States, the temporary suspension of the ban prohibiting federal funding for domestic or global needle exchange programs, and organized the U.S. government and White House activities around the 2012 International AIDS Conference.
