Sun Come Up
Sun Come Up is an Academy Award-nominated film that shows the human face of climate change. It follows the relocation of the Carteret Islanders, a community living on a remote island chain in the South Pacific Ocean that is threatened by rising sea levels. The film documents a group of young islanders as they leave their ancestral home. Sun Come Up provokes discussion about climate change, displacement, and the rights of vulnerable communities around the globe. Nationwide screenings of the film are being sponsored by the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change. A discussion about climate change and the questions it raises for communities around the world will immediately follow the 38-minute film. Iowa State faculty participants include Clark Wolf, director of the Bioethics Program and Cinzia Cervato, professor of Geological & Atmospheric Sciences. Anne Clifford, the Msgr.
