Chad Pregracke decided to personally clean and restore the rivers of America beginning with the Mississippi. He started out with his own boat and a love of nature, and ended up spearheading the largest environmental cleanup of its kind. Major corporations sponsor his efforts and hundreds of volunteers join him in his work. AmeriCorp has also begun working with him, supplying volunteers in the fight to save America's rivers and shores. Honored with the 2002 Jefferson Award for the greatest public service for an individual 35-years or younger, he has been featured in Time Magazine and People, and on CNN, MTV and the the TODAY Show.
