Dave Cooper works with Appalachian Voices of Boone, North Carolina. Before becoming an environmental activist, he graduated from Vanderbilt University and spent 20 years working in industry as a mechanical engineer. After seeing a mountaintop removal mine in operation, he became a full-time activist.
