Gregory L. Geoffroy is Iowa State University's 14th president. He was Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Maryland, College Park, and briefly served as interim president of the university. He served as professor, chair of the Department of Chemistry, and dean of Eberly College of Science at the Pennsylvania State University. He is a nationally acclaimed researcher in organometallic chemistry. He has published more than 200 research articles in refereed journals; presented more than 200 invited lectures in the United States and nine other nations; and is co-author of the book Organometallic Photochemistry. He earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville, and a doctorate from the California Institute of Technology.
