Presidential Caucus Series - Peace and Security through Diplomacy

Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich, a Democrat from Ohio, is the leader of the Progressive Caucus with a commitment to public service, peace, human rights, workers rights, and the environment. He is an advocate of a Department of Peace, and supports nuclear disarmament, preservation of the ABM treaty, banning weapons in outer space, and a halt to the development of a 'Star Wars' - type missile defense technology. As chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the largest congressional caucus, he has promoted a national health care system, preservation of Social Security, increased unemployment insurance benefits, and the establishment of wholesales cost-based rates for electricity, natural gas and home heating oil. The Presidential Caucus Series is designed to provide students with an opportunity to hear all the potential candidates before the Iowa presidential caucuses January 19, 2004.
