Performance: Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band

The Trinidad Tripoli Steel Band will perform Calypso music on finely tuned steel oil drums. The 23 drum ensemble ranges from a "bass" drum with 21 notes to a smaller "first violin" with 36 notes. The Steel Band has performed their extensive repertoire at eight world fairs. They have presented two command performances for the queen of England and their "Gold" album won an Emmy Award in 1972.
