The national ONE campaign believes that allocating an additional ONE percent of the U.S. budget would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in the world's poorest countries. It is an effort to rally Americans -- ONE by ONE -- to fight global AIDS and extreme poverty. The ONE campaign brings together a diverse coalition of faith-based and antipoverty groups, including Bread for the World; celebrity spokespeople, such as U2 lead singer Bono; as well as corporate partnerships and local ONE Campaign organizers. The Bread for the World Institute, a ONE campaign affiliate, seeks justice for hungry people through research and education on hunger and development. Mike Batell, the Upper Midwest Regional Outreach Organizer for Bread for the World, will discuss volunteer and service opportunities available to students.
