John F. Engelhardt is the director of the Center for Gene Therapy and professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. His laboratory focuses on the development of gene therapies for inherited and environmentally induced diseases. He received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Iowa State University, and his doctorate in human genetics from Johns Hopkins University.
