Judge Keefe tried the first televised trial in Iowa, the Moses murder trial, in Waterloo in the Spring of 1980. He graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1952, and was appointed district court judge in 1965. He is past president, Iowa Judges Association: past editor, Iowa Bench News; and past member of the national Faculty of American Academy of Judicial Education, Washington, DC, and is chairman of the Iowa Supreme Court Benchbook Committee.
