Nikki Keddie is a Professor of History at the University of California, Los Angeles. She held a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship and is past president of the Middle East Studies Association of North America. Dr. Keddie is the author of nine books on modern iran and the Middle East. her most recent book is Roots of Revolution; An Interpretive History of Modern Iran.
