Leigh Cohn, author of Making Weight: Healing Men’s Conflicts with Food, Weight & Shape, uses a multimedia presentation to discuss the objectification of men and women and the resulting problems of eating disorders, poor body image, concerns over sexuality, and low self-esteem. It is estimated that 80% of women have dieted, and Cohn explains why an equal number of men want to lose weight or put on pounds of muscle. Leigh Cohn is the publisher of Gürze Books, a company that specializes in eating disorders education. His publications include Bulimia: A Guide to Recovery and Self-Esteem Tools for Recovery, both of which he coauthored with his wife, Lindsey Hall. He has also coedited clinical books, including Sexual Abuse and Eating Disorders and Self Harm and Eating Disorders. Part of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
