Jerry D. Mahlman is the director of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and a professor at Princeton University. His research delves into understanding the behavior of the stratosphere and troposphere which invloves extensive mathematical modeling and diagnosis of the interactiev chemical, radiative, dynamical and transport aspects of the atmosphere, as well as their implications for climate and chemical change. He serves on the Board on Sustainable Development of the National Research Council, and is a member of the Dept. of Energy Advisory Council at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory.
