John L. Esposito is the Founding Director and Vice-Chair of the Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University. He is also University Professor of Religion and International Affairs and of Islamic Studies at Georgetown University, and Editor-in-Chief of The Oxford Encyclopedia of the Modern Islamic World and Oxford History of Islam.
