Adolfo Perez Esquivel is the 1980 Nobel Peace Prize winner. An accomplished sculptor and architect, he founded the Peace and Justice Service, a grassroots network of organizations throughout South America. When the right-wing military took control of the Argentinian Government in 1976, Esquivel worked for the "disappeared" and was even held prisoner and tortured. He is the President of the international League for the Rights and Liberation of Peoples and the author of Christ in a Poncho and Walking Together with the People.
