Marc Herold has been gathering data on civilian casualities since October 7 by culling information from news agencies, major newspapers, and first-hand accounts. Whenever possible, he has sought to cross-corroborate accounts of civilian casualties. He is associate professor of Economics, International Relations, and Women's Studies at the University of New Hampshire, and has a M.B.A. in International Business and a doctorate in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
