Holly Burkhalter is the Advocacy Director of Physicians for Human Rights, a human rights organization that works to promote health by protecting human rights. Physicians for Human Rights coordinates the U.S. Campaign to Ban Landmines (USCBL), a coalition of over 500 U.S. non-governmental organizations. Holly Burkhalter, who is based in the organization's Washington office, served as co-chair of the USCBL from 1998-1999 and coordinator from 1999-2000. Before that, she was affiliated with Human Rights Watch for fourteen years as that organization's Advocacy Director and director of its Washington office.
