Clifford Stoll, widely known for being involved with computer networks since their inception, is an astronomer and computer security and network expert. He is the author of High Tech Heretic: Why Computers Don't Belong in the Classroom and Other Reflections by a Computer Contrarian, and Silicon Snake Oil. He has a doctorate in Astronomy from the University of Arizona, and an undergraduate degree in physics from SUNY, Buffalo. He is currently building software for the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
