Introducing Iowa State University’s Pioneer Innovator in Residence: Iowa State University is fortunate to secure Dennis Muilenburg as our first Innovator in Residence, a position that will create novel university-industry collaborations that elevate our students’ capacity to innovate, lead, and create pathways for future employment.  Dennis earned his ISU Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and an honorary doctor of science degree. He also holds a Masters of aeronautics and astronautics.  His career is populated with examples of pioneering industry-changing innovation that goes beyond technical application.  Perhaps Muilenburg is best known for his capacity to create novel models for customer engagement, global collaboration, and performance enhancement.  HIs history with The Boeing Company includes more than three decades as a business, team and engineering leader, serving customers in a broad array of commercial airplanes, defense and security systems, and space exploration markets – with experiences ranging from leading-edge product innovation, to global enterprise operations, game-changing market strategies, new business start-ups, and talent development.
