Alaina Money-Garman, aka Buildlikeagirl, ​is a homebuilder, writer, speaker and mom to three rowdy feminists and 1 tiny misbehaving dog. Alaina is the founder and CEO of Garman Homes and Fresh Paint by Garman Homes. Alaina was employee #3 at Garman Homes and managed both the sales and construction teams before ultimately serving as Division President until 2017. Known for her award winning blog, Build Like a Girl, Alaina is passionate about the role of women in homebuilding. In 2015, Alaina was named to Professional Builder Magazine’s list of 40 Under 40. Alaina has also been named Builder of the Year twice – in 2015 by the Home Builders Association of Durham Orange Chatham County and in 2017 as the first female recipient of the award by the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake. She is currently on the Board of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake and also serves as Education Committee co-chair and an NAHB National Delegate. Alaina has been featured in several magazines including NC Business, Professional Builder, and most recently on the cover of Building Women Magazine in Summer of 2019. Alaina is a full member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where she currently serves as Chair for the Residential Neighborhood Development Council.  Alaina is a frequent speaker and podcast guest who is known for sharing deeply personal stories of struggle and triumph in the hopes of inspiring others.
