Isabel Letelier is Director of the Human Rights Project and Third World Women's Project at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington. Her husband was the Chilean Ambassador to the United States and Minister of Foreign Relations before the 1973 coup, and in 1976 he was assassinated while in exile in this country.
