David Garrow is a professor of history at City College of new York. His books include Bearing the Cross: Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference; The FBI and Martin Luther King, Jr: From Solo to Memphis and Protest at Selma: Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He received his masters' and doctorate at Duke University. Planned in honor of the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1965.
