Higher Education in a Democracy

Gloria Scott is the president of Bennett College, a historically black college for women, in Greensboro, North Carolina. She is chair of the Task Force on Minority Participation in independent Higher Education for the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and serves on a number of boards including the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
