Carole Gallagher devoted ten years to photographing and researching her book American Ground Zero. This book illustrates the human costs of testing more that atomic bombs which scattered radiation over most areas of the United States. She was director of the Nuclear Towns Documentary Project and taught at the University of Utah and her photographs have been exhibited internationally.
