Paul Sweezy is one of the nation's most distinguished Marxist economists. He was educated at Exeter, Harvard, and London School of Economics. He worked for various New Deal agencies and during World War II, he served with the Office of Strategic Services. In 1949, he co-founded Monthly Review, and has been credited with keeping socialist thought alive in the United States through trying times such as the McCarthy period.
