This 1977 film is not only a general guide to the working of multinational corporations but also a powerful indictment of them. It examines the international implications of American imperialism in Brazil, Chile, and the Dominican Republic. It then brings the problem home to the United States by analyzing the difficulties encountered when union workers in a Massachusetts machine tool plant, which had been in the community for 100 years, resisted a paycut demanded by a multinational company which had taken over their factory.
