Paul Wapner is the author of Living Through the End of Nature, a call to regroup and refashion the American environmental movement to be more politically relevant in the twenty-first century. He is Professor of Global Environmental Politics in the School of International Service at the American University and a faculty member at the school's Contemplative Environmental Studies Summer Institute. Wapner earned graduate degrees from Princeton University and the University of Chicago. His book Environmental Activism and World Civic Politics won the 1997 Harold and Margaret Sprout Award for the best book on international environmental affairs. The 2012-13 Helen LeBaron Hilton Chair in Human Sciences.
