Gar Aperovitz is president of the national Center for Economic Alternatives, senior research scientist at the University of Maryland and fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies. His books include Atomic Diplomacy: Hiroshima and Potsdam, Rebuilding America, Strategy and Program, Cold War Essays and a book on the decision to bomb Hiroshima to be published in 1995.
