Anne Beatts graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from McGill University in 1966. In 1970, she became a contributing editor of the National Lampoon and wrote for the Lampoon Radio Hour. In 1976, she co-edited Titters: The First Collection of Humor by Women, and in 1977 she co-edited the best-selling Saturday Night Live. In 1979, her work was seen on Broadway in "Gilda Radner: Live From New York." She also edited The Gilda Radner Cut-out doll Book.
