Scott Slovic is director of the Center for Environmental Arts and Humanities at the University of Nevada and a professor of literature and the environment. He was the founder and president (1992-95) of the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment and edits the organization's journal, ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with guest Peggy Barlett, professor of anthropology at Emory University and activist for sustainable development, Art and Design professor Steve Herrnstadt, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering professor Ramesh Kanwar, Leopold Center director Fred Kirschenmann, and History professor Jay Taylor.
