Alison Saar is a visual artist working in a variety of media, including sculpture, painting, and printmaking. Her work addresses issues of race, gender, and spirit. After receiving her MFA at Otis Art Institute, she moved to New York, where she lived and worked for fourteen years. She currently resides in Los Angeles. She has been the recipient of many awards, including the Flintridge Foundation Award and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award. Her work is featured in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Hirshorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
