James O' Connor is a co-founder of Capitalism, Nature, Socialism: A Journal of Socialist Ecology and author of The Meaning of Crisis, Accumulation Crisis, The Fiscal Crisis of the State and other books. He is a professor of Sociology and Economics at University of California, Santa Cruz, where he teaches graduate seminars on capitalism and nature and the sociology of the environment.
