Virgil Suarez was born in Havana, Cuba, and moved to the United States in 1974. His poems have appeared in over 250 magazines and journals, and he is the author of four novels, three collections of poetry, and one collection of short fiction. His work has been included in hundreds of magazines, journals, and anthologies. He is a professor of creative writing at Florida State University, and holds degrees from California State, Long Beach, and Louisiana State University.
