Biodiversity Prospecting for New Medicines

Barbara Timmermann is Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona. She leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists working in Chile, Argentina and Mexico on a 5-year program funded jointly by the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundationi in an effort to research integrating biodiversity conservation and drug discovery from natural products with economic development.
