Norton Wise is Co-Director of the Center for Society and Genetics at UCLA and Professor of History. He is co-author of Energy and Empire, author of the series Work and Waste: Political Economy and Natural Philosophy in 19th Century Britain, and editor of The Values of Precision. He is a History of Science Professor at UCLA, and this presentation is part of the History of Technology and Science Series.
