Stephen T. Russell is the Priscilla Pond Flawn Regents Professor of Child Development at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on development in adolescence, with an emphasis on adolescent sexuality, LGBT youth, and parent-adolescent relationships. His research has been used to shape local and state policies and laws for school safety. Russell is currently chair of the Board of Directors of the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States and is a past president of the Society for Research on Adolescence.
