Mohammed Alabsi is a seasoned technology leader with experience in the US, East Asia and the Middle East. Mohammed’s career began as an early engineer at the first successful tech startup to come out of the Middle East, Maktoob. After finishing his Masters in Computer Science from Iowa State, Mohammed joined Amazon’s engineering team in Seattle, WA. During his 10 years tenure at Amazon, Mohammed built a number of Cloud services that are powering millions of tech companies worldwide. He was also a founding member of two of Amazon’s largest businesses, Advertising and Amazon Business. Afterwards, Mohammed moved to Indonesia where he joined Bukalapak as an SVP of Engineering. At Bukalapak, he helped build one of the most successful eCommerce businesses in Southeast Asia. Mohammed is currently a full time advisor and angel investor, working with startups across ASEAN. He is also a Venture Fellow at Insignia Ventures, Singapore, and is pursuing his Executive MBA at the Kellogg School of Management.
