Piers M. Wood was Chief of Staff at the Center for Defense Information, an organization which conducts research on trends and developments in U.S. and international defense policies and strategies, and provides forums where legitimate viewpoints on defense matters can be discussed. In May of 2000, he started a new national military research organization, Military Insights. Previously, he served 28 years in military service, earning the Silver Star and two Bronze Stars with the combat V, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. His assignments included serving as an Assistant Professor of history at West Point and as an Aide-de-Camp to a four-star Army Group Commander in NATO.
