Steve King was elected to Iowa's Fifth Congressional District in 2002. He describes himself as a social conservative, and serves on the House Committee on the Judiciary and the Constitution and Immigration Subcommittees in addition to the Agriculture and Small Business Committees. As State Senator he worked to pass legislation on the English as the official language bill, elimination of the inheritance tax, and the God and Country bill.
