Contemporary Latin America
James Nelson Goodsell received his B.A. from the Principia College (1951), M.A. from Mexico City College (1952) and Ph.D. from Harvard University (1966}. As Latin American Editor of The Christian Science Monitor, Dr. Goodsell has earned the esteem of his North American and Latin American colleagues. He was honored with the Sigma Delta Chi award for foreign correspondence in 1966 for his coverage of the revolution in the Dominican Republic and in 1968 he received the Tom Wallace award from the Inter-American Press association in recognition of his work for inter-American friendship and understanding. Dr. Goodsell writes for a variety of other periodicals, including the {i]Saturday Review, the Progressive, and Current History. He is the editor of The Quest for Change in Latin America: Materials for a Twentieth-Century Assessment (1970).
