Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate will lead a conversation on empowering young Iowans to participate in democracy and make their voices heard. Drawing on decades of public service as Secretary of State, mayor of Cedar Rapids, and state legislator, Secretary Pate will discuss Iowa’s nationally recognized election administration, the importance of civic education, and the many pathways students have to get involved. Under his leadership, Iowa has expanded voter registration, strengthened election security, and launched award‑winning initiatives that promote accessibility, integrity, and participation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to access voter registration information on site.
This lecture recording can be found on the Available Recordings page approximately two business days after the event and will remain accessible for three weeks.
