We are overpowered by external chaos and become enslaved by following what it dictates to us, when in reality these are just situations over which we have a choice—we don’t have to give them power over us. Let’s explore how our minds more often than not become part of the problem, and correct this with some simple practices.
Geshe Lobsang Dhondup became a monk at Drepung Loseling Monastery in South India at age 10 and earned his Geshe Degree (Doctor of Buddhist Philosophy) in 2015. He received empowerments from masters of all four Tibetan Buddhist lineages and remains deeply engaged in advanced Tantrayana practice. At the monastery, he held roles in administration, teaching, and international representation. In 2018, he was appointed Cultural Officer of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to South Africa, where he taught Buddhist philosophy and meditation, participated in interfaith and scientific dialogues, supported prison reform initiatives, and worked with African think tanks and traditional healers to foster cross-cultural understanding and validate indigenous contemplative practices.
This lecture recording can be found on the Available Recordings page approximately two business days after the event and will remain accessible for three weeks.
